FACILITIES
Dedicated on November 11, 1922, the stadium was built as a memorial to 130 members of the University of Kansas community who died in World War I. It is now named David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium in honor of alumnus David Booth, whose $50 million donation supported major renovations.
Originally developed from McCook Field (1892), the stadium was rebuilt in the early 1920s following a successful fundraising campaign. Over the decades, it expanded to a capacity of 51,500 and underwent major renovations in the late 1990s. Additional upgrades include the Anderson Family Football Complex (2008) and the removal of the track in 2014, replaced with turf after the opening of Rock Chalk Park.
