FACILITIES
The University of Kansas hosts its home cross country meets at Rim Rock Farm, located northwest of Lawrence. Originally owned by former head coach Bob Timmons and donated to KU in 2004, the course has been home to the Jayhawks since 1974 and is known for its challenging terrain, including covered bridges, named hills, turns, and landmarks honoring former Jayhawk greats.
The course also features silhouette statues of legendary distance runners and has hosted major events such as the USATF National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships, Big 12, Big Eight, and NCAA Cross Country Championships, as well as numerous Kansas high school state meets.
Rim Rock Farm continues to be maintained by former Kansas runner Steve Heffernan, who resides on the property and oversees its upkeep while serving as a high school coach.
